Split Tech City is a community composed of well-intentioned and progressive companies, startups, associations, initiatives, institutions and individuals. Together we encourage and develop the IT sector of Split and the surrounding region.
Support our communityWe say “little” but quite a few new meetups popped up, while some old ones got given new life and a couple of tried ones kept going steadily like a well-oiled machine.
Whatever the case may be, we’re happy public gatherings are a thing again and our local community is lively with events. Therefore, let’s dive right into this “little” overview of meetups you can choose from, shall we?!
Agilathon is one of the Split Tech City community members who decided to initiate their own meetup. The first edition has already been held with great success and we cannot wait to see what they will come up with in the future!
What we do know is that the topics will vary, be industry-relevant, and the meetup will be a great chance to network with like-minded people. A win-win in our book!
BipTalks are created by Infobip. And you already know what Infobip stands for, we’re sure of it! BipTalks meetups are already a regular occurrence in other cities in the region where Infobip has its offices (Zagreb, Vodnjan, Rijeka, Osijek, etc.).
Through these well-attended get-togethers, the Infobip team wants to introduce its methods and products to the audience and exchange experiences with colleagues. Interesting topics are guaranteed, and great networking, too!
Coders’ Kitchen comes straight from the creative “kitchen” of Maurer Electronics! It is a meetup where, through a series of conversations and gatherings with the members of Split’s tech community, topics such as modern trends in software development, cloud computing, big data, microservices, DDD, and QA automation will be regularly discussed.
A varied taste of tech-related topics and some networking on top? Sign us up!
The Marketing Meetup is another one whose name gives away its purpose. At this meetup, you can find a variety of topics related to all things marketing. Like most of Split’s meetups, this one is also open to anyone interested in its core topic: seasoned professionals, students, freelancers, and anyone in between.
Marketing and networking – a combination to boot!
Focused on Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Deep Learning, the ML/AI Split meetup is all about sharing experience and knowledge and promoting education. However, don’t let these “tough” topics scare you off!
This meetup is open to everyone. It is supported by ICT County, as well as the lecturers and researchers from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and FESB. Lots of learning and networking opportunities – what are you waiting for?!
Sigmoid Lab (Postindustria Group) cooperated with Alen Stojanović to return the QA Meetup to Split’s tech scene! This cooperation arose out of a mutual desire to continue the tradition of sharing knowledge and gathering QA experts from the Split area and beyond.
Is QA your passion? Do you want to know more about it? Are you a QA expert or are you interested in becoming one? Whatever your motivation, if you’re into this topic, you know what you need to do – don’t miss the next meetup in this series!
Serengeti came to Split and got an office with a great view. So what did they decide to do? Share it with us all, of course! To add to it, they also decided that Serengeti meetups will have the added value of sharing industry-related insights. They’ve already held a couple of meetups and word on the streets is people can’t wait for more!
So, awesome view, great insights, fabulous people? You know you should go to the next one, right?!
Tinel is a classic! And we’re glad it’s back! This regular meetup with interesting tech topics takes place at the Locastic HQ with support from Digitalna Dalmacija. They attract high-quality speakers from the industry to share their experience and knowledge with the local audience.
Another purpose of Tinel is to provide everyone, from students to experts, a chance to share experiences and ideas, exchange contacts, and meet new like-minded people. Don’t miss out on Tinel!
This one is for all you Unreal Engine enthusiasts because this meetup is organized by Split’s Unreal Engine group with the help of Aspira College. The group aims to gather developers, filmmakers, architects, product designers, and general CG enthusiasts in one place to exchange experiences and ideas related to using Epic’s Unreal Engine in their work.
If you are or would like to be, working with Unreal Engine and want to learn more, or if you are looking for Unreal Engine experts to expand your business, these meetups are tailored to you!
And last but not least, the two Split Tech City constants that kept going even throughout this “will they, won’t they” period we’ve all experienced during the past couple of years.
As its name aptly states, the idea behind this one was to offer a meetup for digital nomads that will give them an opportunity to come in contact with more locals than at a regular digital nomad meetup.
It’s easy to stay within the comfort of your own bubble of internationals when you’re living the digital nomad life, so we decided to make it easy for you to come in contact with more locals. The Locals’n’Nomads meetup happens once a month and varies in location, time, and theme. But what stays the same is the great time we always have together!
Recently up to its 136th edition, the OpenCoffee Split meetup is kind of the reason behind Split Tech City’s creation. Its longevity is astounding and we are certain this meetup will be like fine wine – only better with age.
The format is simple: there’s always something going on like a lecture or a panel discussion, and after that, there’s plenty of time for networking. You should join its next edition and experience it yourself!
To sum it up, here’s one thing we always say to everyone – you’re welcome to all these meetups!
Even if the content is in Croatian, absolutely no one will mind if you show up and be there just for the sake of networking. So, don’t be shy and come join us at one of the upcoming events which you can always find listed in the Split Tech City calendar.
Additionally, if you’re organizing an event or attending one, and said event isn’t on our calendar, let us know and we’ll gladly add it and spread the word. The more, the merrier!
See you at meetups in Split! 😀
