DK Festival 2024 broke records again this past weekend as several thousand people gathered in Rovinj to participate in this unique event.

We were also there to enjoy the fantastic DK Festival atmosphere! 😀

To remind you – from April 11 to 14 – various creatives, digital content creators, communicators, designers, and all lovers of creativity and market communications, got together at the Lone Hotel in Rovinj for the tenth edition of the DK Festival.

By far the greatest interest of the public in all segments of the DK Festival was recorded this year!

The hardworking DK Festival team clarified that the absolute support and desire of the communication community for this project is what motivates them the most, and it is very visible already at first glance at the DK Festival’s initial statistics.

Unique festival offers, high-quality production and organization, combined with a total of 163 lecturers and panelists, and more than 70 program contents which took place at 7 locations, prove that the DK Festival is a not-to-miss event.

For the first time, in addition to the lecturers in the main hall, the festival attendees had the chance to participate in a whole series of interesting discussions on topics of great importance for the industry, from digital topics and cryptocurrencies to creativity and public relations in as many as three other festival halls.

Domestic experts were joined in these talks by regional ones, which offered a high-quality overview of the creative and communication scene in Croatia and the region.

In all of DK Festival splendor, our beloved hometown wasn’t left without its own representation! 😉

In charge of highlighting the best sides of Split were two panel discussions: one by Split Tech City and the other by DUMP Association.

“Split State of Mind” by Split Tech City at the DK Festival explored the historical and contemporary dynamics of doing business in Split.

In a session moderated by Pinija Poljaković, the panelists Luka Šipić (Vrh komunikacije), Toni Miličević (Locastic), and Romana Ban (Split Tech City) discussed all about the Split state of mind – where the city was years ago, where it stands now, and where it’s going in the future.

And, when talking about the future, youth is the central topic, so it’s no wonder the youthful team from the DUMP Association was present to talk about all the possible ways of launching a professional career.

Moderated by Ante Roca (DUMP), the panelists Josip Svalina (Fundamento), Lucia Vukorepa (marketing specialist, VIP Holiday Booker), and Matija Luketin (solbound.dev and Superteam Balkans) talked about all things relevant to landing your first IT job or launching something of your own.

In addition to the daily program, awards were also given to the best achievements of the profession during all three DK Festival evenings.

Split Tech City community member SeekandHit shined brightly on the DK Festival awards stage, but we’ll share more of that soon as such achievement deserves its own space for celebration! 😀

The DK Festival team explained the importance of professional competitions both for the festival and for the industry as a whole: “We are proud that 518 projects were selected for awards at five competitions, and 118 members of the jury and competition committee worked really hard on selecting the best ones.

Competitions are not only useful from the perspective of the prizewinners but all who participate.

Learning happens even when the project does not achieve the desired competitive result because competitions provide very useful feedback about the work done and then about the market context, give insight into domestic production, and are also a great inspiration for the future.”

In addition to useful market insights through awards, this year’s DK Festival brought into focus important topics and abounded in important knowledge and useful conclusions – from (un)predictable (i)rationality, (in)sincerity, fake news, and decision-making patterns to success strategies based on human behavior.

All of this was realized by a truly impressive lineup of speakers making it really difficult for us to highlight anyone!

After experiencing it live, we can state without a doubt that the DK Festival brings the most interesting speakers to this event but also gathers the best of the domestic communications scene.

Therefore, it’s no wonder we’re still on a high from the amazing time we had at this year’s DK Festival and can’t wait for its next edition! 😀

Researching is woven into my DNA, but I am a musician at heart. Interested in too many things and always curious. Forever in love with Split and enchanted by people who teach me new things. When I am not creating content about Split's tech community, you will find me in singing rehearsals, somewhere in nature, in the theater, or with my head stuck in a book. I do my best to live by the verse from the opera "Fedora" by Umberto Giordano: "Love forbids you not to love."
