A Gift for the Future

The story of Coffer began with a very specific question that founder Andrea Čeprnja asked herself when she became a mother: what happens to the money traditionally given by relatives, godparents, and friends to celebrate the birth of a child?

That gift usually arrives in an envelope, is quickly spent on everyday expenses, or simply disappears into the household budget.

Coffer was created as an answer to one question: how can a symbolic gesture be turned into something that truly remains with the child?

Coffer combines two gifts in one box.

The physical part is a soft crocheted cuddle toy made from cotton and muslin, CE-certified and suitable from birth (0+).

Alongside it comes a gold metal card with a QR code, which allows parents to easily claim the gifted digital assets – the selected amount of cryptocurrency given to the child by relatives and friends – so that the gifted value can be preserved for the child until adulthood.

What sets us apart is the regulatory rigour behind a seemingly simple gift.

The digital part of the Coffer gift operates through a partnership with the Bitcoin Store platform (Digital Assets d.o.o.), a regulated Croatian platform supervised by HANFA and compliant with the European MiCA regulation.

Do I Need to Know Anything About Cryptocurrency?

The buyer does not need to open an account or understand the technology behind it. They simply choose and purchase the desired amount, while the gift recipient – the parent – later claims and manages the gifted value independently, with clear instructions provided by us.

We believe that a newborn gift should not have to choose between emotion and value – it can carry both.

Our goal is for Coffer to become the new standard for newborn gifting in Croatia and, eventually, across Europe: a gift the child can hold in their hands today, and one that remains with them for the future.
