We’re bringing you the next installment in the series dedicated to highlighting the fantastic work of the Split Tech City community members. You already had the chance to read about the NAIS and Blazorise teams and see what they’ve been up to recently.

Today’s highlight is reserved for another hardworking #SplitTechCityMember team – Kancelarija!

About Kancelarija

Translated into English, “kancelarija” means “the office”. But Kancelarija isn’t just any old office, cluttered with dust and mountains of papers.

The company’s founders, Zoja Stevović and Dora Tripalo, are young women who break all imposed societal stereotypes related to accountants.

Their business collaboration began in the family business of Zoja’s father and his partners, a company that was engaged in the development and maintenance of accounting software. After Zoja’s father retired, the question arose in which direction Zoja and Dora would continue their professional path.

Through years of working together, they gained experience in entrepreneurship, accounting, and taxes, as well as the application of modern IT technologies in accounting. Driven by a common vision and good foundations, Kancelarija was founded in 2015.

“Zoja’s father brought us closer to the crossover of computer science and accounting. He also instilled in us a slightly different approach to accounting and taught us to look at the broader picture of the client’s business – to truly understand what we do.”

This made Kancelarija into what it is today – a company that provides accounting and tax consulting services made up of a team who loves what they do and who have modernized their work to make it – digitalized and paperless!

And this is exactly the thing that makes Kancelarija unique – the fact that they have replaced paper with cloud services.

The Kancelarija team has found applications and software that enable better connectivity between clients and the team, as well as work on the same database with 24/7 insight into business and financial reports. Their clients are provided with complete insight into their business and financial reports at any time by accessing a shared database via a mobile application or computer.

In today’s age of rapid flow of information, digitalization of the processes is necessary, at all levels, including administration and accounting, and for successful business management, it is important to have timely and constantly available information.

This is how the Kancelarija team breaks down prejudices about accounting and accountants.

They’re not your classic accountants, at least not the kind of accountants people imagine when they hear the word accounting. The Kancelarija team is not drowning under mountains of paper, they enjoy coming to work, and always find time for a coffee together in the sun.

Most recent Kancelarija news and updates

This is also the reason why they don’t want the work they do to become monotonous, but always strive to have some new challenges and some new projects. So they jokingly shared the following:

“We don’t want to turn into printers!” 😀

In their business, the Kancelarija team is always based on the positive: “What guides us through our work is that we only look at the good, and we don’t deal with the negative, and we look at how we can direct our knowledge to other people, but also how we can learn from them.”

One way they challenge themselves, as well as share their vast knowledge on all things taxes and accounting is through the guest articles they write for the Croatian version of the Split Tech City website. Something we at Split Tech City, as well as the community at large, are very grateful for.

If you’re curious about why a company that works primarily in the fields of taxes and accounting joined a tech community, the Kancelarija team is quick to share why exactly this community was important for them: “We found like-minded people in Split’s tech community – a general idea of entrepreneurship and connecting young people that we have never encountered before, not even in our field.

For us, the Split Tech City community is a ray of optimism for Split as a city, young people, entrepreneurs, and the entrepreneurial culture in Split in general.”

For Dora and Zoja, this sense of community is also felt within their team of smiling, hard-working employees, who are also a group of very dear people. Employees feel part of Kancelarija – they have common goals, and they progress together – both as individuals and as a company.

Something they want everyone to know about Kancelarija is this: “We are proud of everything that we have done during the years of Kancelarija’s existence and of the team we have created together.

We are happy that we were brave and dared to open an accounting office in a market that is already quite saturated in that regard. And also that we now stand out because of the way we work, and that we have created a recognizable brand of a modern office for accounting services and tax consulting.

There are only about 40 companies registered for providing tax consulting services in Croatia and Kancelarija is one of them.”

And that’s a wrap on another #MembersHighlight! We wish the lovely Kancelarija team continuous success in the future!

Researching is woven into my DNA, but I am a musician at heart. Interested in too many things and always curious. Forever in love with Split and enchanted by people who teach me new things. When I am not creating content about Split's tech community, you will find me in singing rehearsals, somewhere in nature, in the theater, or with my head stuck in a book. I do my best to live by the verse from the opera "Fedora" by Umberto Giordano: "Love forbids you not to love."
