Our Split Tech City Festival is number one to us, but we looove going to Days of Communication (just read this love letter) in May. Like every year, we partnered up for both, and we are going to Rovinj this year with a bit of provocation to all the agencies out there trying to get that media space one PR at a time.

Inbox fatigue is real. Newsrooms are stretched thin. Attention feels like a luxury item. But before we blame “the media”, it’s worth asking a slightly uncomfortable question: are our stories actually worth covering?

This panel zooms in on that tension between communicators and journalists; we’re talking the silent eye rolls, the unread emails, the “just circling back” follow-ups — and asks where things really break down.

Because sometimes the problem isn’t the algorithm, the timing or the editor. Sometimes it’s the story.

From both sides of the divide, Mario Jurič (News Anchor & Reporter, RTL Danas), Mate Prlić (Marketing Director, Co-founder & Co-owner, Dalmatinski portal), Luka Šipić (Owner, Managing Director, Vrh komunikacije, Member of IAB Croatia) and Lucija Lončarić (Community & Content Editor, Split Tech City) will unpack what instantly turns editors off, what still earns genuine interest and how storytelling needs to evolve if it wants to survive outside a press release.

They’ll look at practical ways stories reach audiences today, including how local ecosystems like Split Tech City collaborate with media and rethink distribution without massive budgets.

If attention is scarce, as we are reminded every day in the industry, maybe the real skill is making something worth paying attention to.

See you in Rovinj from 7-10th of May, and Split Tech City members don’t forget to reach out to us for the discount.
