Split Tech City is a community composed of well-intentioned and progressive companies, startups, associations, initiatives, institutions and individuals. Together we encourage and develop the IT sector of Split and the surrounding region.
Support our communityGuess what?! The “Locals’n’Nomads” meetup reached double digits!
This is kind of exciting for us because this series of monthly meetups started from an attempt to connect Split’s digital nomads with locals. Back in July 2021, we thought it might be a good idea to try this, we did, the first “Locals’n’Nomads” was great, so we just – continued!
If it works once,… 😀
To mark this special occasion, we decided to join forces with Hack4Split.
Therefore, we’re making this “Locals’n’Nomads” edition an event for the Hack4Split organizers and competing teams to unwind before their competition by hanging out with locals and nomads.
For those unfamiliar with Hack4Split, here’s what this hackathon is all about: a two-day competition aimed at solving social problems and designing social innovations.
As such, it brings together individuals to find solutions to problems in their local community, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Hack4Split competition encourages young people to become active members of their community, to get acquainted with the needs and problems in their community and environment, as well as to engage in solving them.
The hackathon will take place on April 9th and 10th, so “Locals’n’Nomads” will take place on Friday, April 8th.
We’ll meet at 19:00 at Smartspace, a new workplace in Split’s city center. As a workspace for designers, programmers, entrepreneurs, or any other creative problem solvers, it’s a place where technology, education, and design come together.
This makes Smartspace the perfect spot for our celebratory “Locals’n’Nomads”!
We hope we’ll see a lot of you at Smartspace on Friday, April 8th, starting from 19:00.
Sign up and celebrate with us!
As usual – everyone is welcome! 🙂
