Split-based Ice Rebus, through ENGASCO d.o.o., has been named Croatia’s most innovative startup. At the Croatian Most Innovative Startup Competition 2026, it took home two first-place awards:
The awards were presented in Šibenik at the 2nd START UP Conference, organised by HAMAG-BICRO, the Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovations and Investments, as part of the 10th Days of Regional Development and EU Funds.
Today, Ice Rebus technology operates in more than 50 countries across six continents.
As the team puts it, they are still building, improving and finding new ways to change how people get ice.
This isn’t the company’s first recognition: last year Ice Rebus won 1st place in the Adriatic region and ranked among Croatia’s three most innovative young startups. You could also hear their story, from a garage to ice machines around the world, at the 6th Split Tech City Festival.
Ice Rebus dedicates the awards to its whole team, from R&D and software development to production, operations, sales and marketing. The company also thanked HAMAG-BICRO, the organisers and everyone who has been part of its journey.
