A very memorable and hard-to-leave workshop!

Split Tech City

The title is exactly how we would summarize the workshop held by Tomislav Kozačinski, an international 6-figure earning freelancer.

Value of Life per Hour: Lessons from building a 6-figure freelancing career” was the workshop’s title and, judging by the fact that, after the 2-hour workshop ended, the networking lasted well beyond the planned closing time of The Works coworking, the value of Tomislav’s workshop and the subsequent networking was indeed high. 😀

To refresh everyone’s memory about who Tomislav is – he’s a Croatian-born and London-based product design consultant, speaker, Techstars mentor, and stand-up comedian with over 15 years of experience across digital and organizational sectors.

And while his career started in the print and graphic design industry, over fifteen years it has expanded from corporate branding, web design, front-end development, user experience, interactions and interfaces, to sharing his expertise and making ideas come to life as digital products.

When you combine that with his sixteen years of experience in stand-up comedy, his talks and workshops are both – educational and entertaining!

During the two-hour workshop, the attendees had the opportunity to learn how to build an online and offline presence, present their portfolio, build their network, and take their freelancing career from zero to working with clients they want at the rates they deserve.

Tomislav’s unconventional approach and no-nonsense advice kept the attention of the participants not only during the workshop but also during the entire networking stage.

What surprised Tomislav the most were the young students who attended the workshop and, after its conclusion, stayed well into the night to chat with him about his freelance work and life in general.

Aside from interesting conversation, another thing flowed during the networking session – fantastic beers from Kaštela’s craft brewery Familia. We’d like to thank them for providing refreshments for the networking phase and are sure this won’t be the last time we enjoy their brews!

Everyone had a great time at this event, but as usual – we can’t wait to welcome you to one of our upcoming events, too! 🙂
