Split Tech City’s theme of the month for May is “Personal and professional development”. That’s why our lovely Marjan Hill is the visual representation you’ll be seeing across our website and social media channels. That is also the reason why this month’s events will be aligned with that particular topic.

One of those events is the very interesting upcoming free workshop titled “Value of Life per Hour: Lessons from building a 6-figure freelancing career”. It will be held by Tomislav Kozačinski, an international 6-figure earning freelancer.

The workshop will take place at The Works Coworking (Spinčićeva ul. 2b) next Tuesday, May 10th at 19:00, and registration is required.

What the workshop is all about

At the workshop, you will be able to learn how to go from race to the bottom to work with clients you want at the rates you deserve. Tomislav will go over how to build your presence, present your portfolio, build your network, etc.

He will guide you through all the steps he took to get to the point of being a 6-figure earning freelancer.

The workshop is free and open to all: wannabe freelancers, those just starting their freelance journey, those who are already earning their income freelancing but would like to improve their skillset, and everyone else who thinks they might benefit from Tomislav’s invaluable insight.

​Tomislav is a Croatian-born and London-based product design consultant, speaker, Techstars mentor, and stand-up comedian with over 15 years of experience across digital and organizational sectors.

And while his career started in the print and graphic design industry, over fifteen years it has expanded from corporate branding, web design, front-end development, user experience, interactions and interfaces, to sharing his expertise and making ideas come to life as digital products.

​In the last 8 years, Tomislav has traveled from South Africa to Siberia to deliver numerous talks and workshops on subjects ranging from customer and user experience, product design, freelancing as a career choice, and many more.

Combine that with his sixteen years of experience in stand-up comedy, and his talks and workshops are both – educational and entertaining! 🙂

​Since 2013, when he joined Toptal as one of the first designers, Tomislav has been championing remote work and freelancing and has worked with clients from every corner of the world.

Being a truly creative entrepreneur, ​he is a contributor to London tech and start-up scene, regularly performs his stand-up comedy, and is building a personal development platform Socratly.app while also running a boutique design and development agency Meridian Collective, working mostly with funded startups where his work went on to raise Series A and B funding.
