The fifth edition of the BlockSplit conference, the largest regional event dedicated to blockchain technology and the Web3 ecosystem, will be held in Split from May 27 to 30.

The organizers announce that, over four days, Split will be visited by eighty international speakers, as well as numerous media and business partners, which makes BlockSplit an excellent opportunity for networking with the actors of one of the most propulsive global industries.

The conference will be divided into four days, starting on May 27 at the AC Hotel by Marriott Split with Digital Democracy Day.

“During the first day, we will talk about innovative solutions for democracy, with a focus on media financing, digital elections, and discussions about digital identity,” says Tomislav Mamić, co-founder of BlockSplit.

Tomislav explained how digital democracy refers to the use of digital technologies to involve citizens in democratic processes: “Our goal is to present various tools and platforms that enable citizens to participate in decision-making processes and access information about public policies and issues.”

During the two following conference days on May 28 and 29, BlockSplit changes venue and expands in topics.

The speakers and panelists – relevant scientists, artists, bankers, politicians, and activists from around the world – will be discussing decentralized finance and science, security and privacy on the Internet, gaming and digital democracy, and many other current issues.

Some of the confirmed participants are Audrey Tang, Minister of Digital Affairs of Taiwan; Glen Weyl, founder of the RadicalxChange Foundation and co-founder and president of the Institute for Plurality; Ambassadors of India, Denmark, and Egypt to Croatia; DeSciWorld founder Joshua Bate and many others, including distinguished professors from UCLA, the University of Bremen and Belgrade, but also Ivica Puljak, the Mayor of Split.

The co-founder of BlockSplit, Antonio Perić-Mažar, highlights the Web3 Startup Pitch, for which startups can still apply: “The ten best startups will present in front of an expert jury and an audience that will include representatives of investment funds such as Meta Change Capital and Daedalus Angels.

Prizes are provided for the best, including 7,000 euros in cash, 1,000 euros in legal services from the Hrdalo & Krnić law office, and 3,000 euros in UX/UI services from Locastic,” said Antonio.

He also invited interested volunteers to apply if they want to participate in the realization of the largest blockchain event in this part of Europe.

Let’s add that the last day of BlockSplit is again reserved for the – at this point already legendary – boat trip around Split, while numerous opportunities for socializing and networking will be organized during the first three days.

The golden sponsor of the fifth BlockSplit is blockchain pioneer John Lilić, the conference is also supported by Digital Dalmacija, General Magic, Neuralab, Li.Fi, and Jumper.exchange.

Tickets, as well as a detailed agenda, can be found on the official website of the conference – don’t miss BlockSplit 2024!
