Split-based Agilo sponsored this year’s CRO Commerce, Croatia’s leading e-commerce conference. The eighth edition, organised by the eCommerce Croatia association, took place on 13 October at the Mozaik Event Centre in Zagreb. It brought together more than 500 people from the regional e-commerce scene, with talks and panels across three stages.
Agilo came to the conference as the first official Medusa expert partner. Their stand carried just three words: commerce you own.
Medusa is an open-source e-commerce platform built on Node.js and TypeScript. Unlike closed platforms, the catalogue, orders, customers and business logic stay on infrastructure the company controls. It is released under the MIT licence, so there are no licence fees and no cut of sales. You only pay for hosting and development.
Agilo has been building B2B and B2C e-commerce platforms since 2008, and today it builds them on Medusa. At the conference, the team presented three key advantages:
Throughout the day, the Agilo team ran several live demos of the Medusa admin on their fashion starter. Visitors saw how products, orders and customers are managed. A prize wheel drew people to the stand, and a single spin often turned into a real conversation.

Alongside the demo, they walked through two projects:

Between demos, the Agilo team followed the talks. Five topics, from security and AI agents to logistics, marketing automation and SEO testing, all led to the same conclusion. Customers want choice, data has become infrastructure, and the only way to improve is to test.

A figure from euShipments illustrates this well: as many as 71% of abandoned carts happen because the customer can’t find their preferred delivery method. Delivery options, cash on delivery and multiple currencies look like logistics problems at first, but they are really platform problems. On Medusa, these are modules you simply add, not features you wait for a vendor to ship.

In its conference recap, Agilo warns that a rigid platform eventually becomes a business risk. To see what visitors asked at the stand and how Agilo answers, from migration timelines to SEO, read their blog recap.
