Split Tech City is a community composed of well-intentioned and progressive companies, startups, associations, initiatives, institutions and individuals. Together we encourage and develop the IT sector of Split and the surrounding region.
Support our communityWe’re slowly and steadily approaching the Split Tech City Festival time. And are, naturally, very excited about it! 😉
The main stage program is fully announced, we introduced the pre-program segments from Silicon Castles, CroAI, and IAB Croatia, and every day more of you are securing your spot at the Festival by getting your tickets.
So, you’re already quite familiar with all who will be stepping on the stage of Bačvice Open-Air Cinema on September 7 during this year’s #STCFestival International Day, and now you’re also close to discovering all the stars of the #SplitTechCityFestival pre-program.
The pre-program takes place at the same location, but just slightly different: in a small Mediterranean pine forest overlooking the Bačvice Bay and the island of Brač representing everything that our #MediterraneanTechHub truly is.
As we’ve already mentioned, this year’s pre-program during the #InternationalDay is taking place in collaboration with a variety of innovative organizations that are members, partners, and/or supporters of the Split Tech City community.
It’s our way of extending the #SplitTechCityFestival positivity and inspiration! 😉
The final part of the pre-program we’re presenting today is brought to you by the NEXT Youth Conference.
NEXT is the #SplitTechCityPowered conference for future generations whose first edition was held last year.
The main organizational team consisted of three young Split Tech City volunteers – high school students Lana Todorovski, Timea Podrug, and Karlo Marasović. The fabulous team who have been volunteering at the Split Tech City Festival for years now and who you will have a chance to see and meet again this year.
Because, at this point, there’s no Split Tech City Festival without Lana, Timea, and Karlo! 😀
These students of Split’s School of Design, Graphics, and Sustainable Construction, who are majoring in web development, brought great lecturers and panelists to NEXT and enabled hundreds of high school students, university students, and other young people in the audience to hear inspiring stories from the world of entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, and personal development.
The same goal exists in bringing the NEXT Youth Conference in the form of a panel discussion to the Split Tech City Festival!
We wanted to showcase that Split is the city of youth and there is space for future generations at the Split Tech City Festival, as well. Without them, the Festival would not continue to exist in the future, so we’re always happy to see young faces in the crowd and have been supporting their participation with special discounted tickets for high school and university students.
To this year’s Split Tech City Festival the NEXT crew is bringing a panel discussion of a simple but loaded title: “Youth Leadership”.
Some of the topics covered during this panel discussion will be:
Because we want to cultivate long-term youth engagement and leadership and ensure that young people continue to play active roles in our local tech and entrepreneurial community.
That’s why the NEXT crew gathered panelists who represent organizations that actively engage Split’s youth in a variety of activities that build leadership skills and promote youth participation in several different ways:
They will be guided through this youth-themed panel discussion by Michael Freer, one of the greatest supporters of youth engagement.
The final touches for this particular panel discussion will come from you – our youthful audience. You are absolutely invited to participate, ask questions, and engage with the panelists. Because youth leadership is a topic concerning us all today for the bright future of tomorrow. 🙂
We know you don’t want to miss out on being there in person – get your Festival ticket and we’ll see you on September 7 in the fantastic venue of Bačvice Open-Air Cinema! 😀
