Split Tech City Festival: preparing for 2024 with a glance at 2022

A couple of weeks ago, we announced the 2024 edition of the Split Tech City Festival – an event that gathers entrepreneurs, experts, and enthusiasts from the world of technology and entrepreneurship which, for the fourth year in a row, brings inspiring stories to the beautiful setting of the Bačvice Open-Air Cinema.

So, mark your calendars for 6 and 7 September and the 4th edition of the #STCFestival! 😀

For the past two years, one day of the Festival was deemed International Day and this year is no different in that regard – September 7 is reserved for all our worldwide guests with content in English.

That doesn’t mean you aren’t welcome for both days, because, while the content of the Split Tech City Festival is always on point, we put as much emphasis on quality networking and ensuring you have a great time.

That’s the added value of #SplitTechCityFestival – the value of human connections it brings year after year!

And while networking is the icing on the cake, the #STCFestival cake is layered even before the networking starts with a rich program and pre-program.

In the coming period, we’ll be slowly revealing the program segments of this year, but while you wait there is something that can showcase what you can expect when you come to this year’s Split Tech City Festival: a throwback to its previous editions!

So, let us guide you through #SplitTechCityFestival2022! 😉

How to Start a Global Tech Business in Croatia

This question was answered during the panel discussion that kickstarted the program of International Day in 2022. Frane Borozan (SysKit), Marko Kovač (Repsly), Morten Smalby (GetByBus), and Bruno Stojaković (PlaySafety) were the ones who answered it by sharing their experiences and knowhow under the entertaining and watchful guidance of our moderator Michael Freer.

Successful Exit Strategy

Next up on the Split Tech City Festival schedule in 2022 was the lecture “Start an Agency and Plan a Successful Exit Strategy” which was delivered by Prashant Vaz. Up-and-coming entrepreneurs, as well as seasoned professionals, benefitted from Prashant’s extensive and varied business experience. The fact that he fell in love in Split enough to come to live here, do his business globally while living locally, and take part in our community is just an added bonus!

Taking a Deep Breath

To be successful in anything we do, we have to nurture our minds as well as our bodies. Entrepreneurship and tech are no different. That’s why in 2022 we invited Daniel Skoblar to take the Split Tech City Festival stage and help us unlock the superpower we’re all capable of utilizing to our benefit: breathing. Being the first certified Wim Hof Method Instructor in Croatia there was no one better than Daniel to help us become superheroes in our own right!

Data as a Way to Success

Omer Chehmer stepped onto the stage of our Festival and delivered the lecture about achieving success through data-driven culture. A passionate entrepreneur and product manager with extensive experience, Omer is also the co-founder of Bookaway Group, a platform that sells bus, ferry, and train tickets. We learned a lot from him about the implementation of a data-driven culture and how it can aid anyone’s business.

Creativity and Entrepreneurship

The program of the first-ever Split Tech City Festival’s International Day concluded with some Silicon Valley spirit right here in our Mediterranean Tech Hub through the lecture titled “Creativity, Entrepreneurship, and Hard Work” which was delivered by Suren Markosian. A serial entrepreneur at heart, Suren has successfully built and scaled several large consumer businesses in Silicon Valley, including Epic! – the largest digital reading platform for kids.

Split Tech City Festival – quality over quantity and mere form

As you’ve seen from this throwback to the 2022 edition of the Split Tech City Festival, we care more about quality content than mere form. Our goal has always been and always will be the same: for you to leave our Festival inspired, full of new knowledge, and with broadened horizons.

We also always take into account the fact that our Festival visitors are as varied as our tech community, so we do our best to come up with a program that will have something interesting for every single one of you sitting in the audience.

That being said, it also reveals another thing: for us community is very important.

We always say, from its very first edition, that the Split Tech City Festival is a community event: organized by the community for the community.

This means that one of the most important aspects of this event is the networking which is always amazing and of equal importance as the pre-program and main stage program!

Additionally, we consider YOU a part of our community! By attending our Festival, you will be supporting the work Split Tech City does and the growth of Split’s tech ecosystem. And have a great time while you do it! So, come and be a part of this year’s #STCFestival magic! 😀

Go get your Festival ticket and see you in the Bačvice Open-Air Cinema in September!

Researching is woven into my DNA, but I am a musician at heart. Interested in too many things and always curious. Forever in love with Split and enchanted by people who teach me new things. When I am not creating content about Split's tech community, you will find me in singing rehearsals, somewhere in nature, in the theater, or with my head stuck in a book. I do my best to live by the verse from the opera "Fedora" by Umberto Giordano: "Love forbids you not to love."
