Last Friday was reserved for another “Locals’n’Nomads” – the meetup that gathers local professionals, both international and native, and Split’s digital nomads.

Many of you braved the infamous jugo wind and the “rare-in-Split” rain to attend this edition held at Smartspace.

This particular “Locals’n’Nomads” was a collaboration between Split Tech City and Expat in Croatia and the topic we focused on is Croatia’s digital nomad permit.

The woman of the evening who unraveled some of the mysteries behind this permit is none other than Sara Dyson, founder and CEO of Expat in Croatia, the team who are experts in getting foreigners through Croatian bureaucracy, as well as providing information on all things Croatia in general.

Naturally, the EIC team gets a lot of questions about Croatia’s digital nomad permit, so Sara decided to share some of the most common and perplexing ones and answer them during her talk.

Those who attended this “Locals’n’Nomads” meetup also had the added benefit of asking Sara their own questions at the Q&A session which followed her talk, as well as during the networking afterward.

We hope all those in the process of obtaining Croatia’s digital nomad permit will go through this bureaucratic labyrinth easily and will enjoy their stay in Split and Croatia! 😀

Sara’s presentation was followed by a moderated group discussion led by Michael Freer. We focused on the benefits and bad sides of being a solo digital nomad or part of a group.

Many digital nomads present at the meetup shared their experiences and reasons behind their choices.

It was certainly informative for us all, especially some younger attendees who are eager to travel after they finish school. 🙂

As is customary with all Split Tech City events we wrapped up this get-together with some great networking accompanied by a few drinks and Fedja’s great choice of music.
