It was a cool evening last night in more ways than one! We were doubly blessed for the second “Locals’n’Nomads”: the heatwave in Split finally decided it is time to chill out a bit, but the atmosphere at the meetup stayed fiery, nonetheless.
We gathered at the elegant outdoor terrace of Hotel Park near Bačvice beach. This time the attendance seemed to double, which is an indicator that our initial idea of mixing Split’s digital nomads with the members of the local tech community is well accepted.
With a little bit of background music provided by the saxophone player, the conversation among the attendees started flowing easily and did not seem to die down throughout the evening. And neither did the music!
Like the last time, the people who attended “Locals’n’Nomads” were truly a great mix of different backgrounds: from digital nomads who are the holders of Croatia’s digital nomad residence permit to those who decided to use the standard three-month period to explore Croatia for a bit; from locals born here to internationals who have already become locals after living in Split for a while; and anyone in between.
Everyone had a different story to share, but everyone also had something in common: lots of positive energy. It is the people that make these kinds of events successful, and we seem to have a thing for gathering a lively and cheerful crowd. We’re thankful for that!
To conclude, we’ll leave you with the answer we got from one of the attendees after we asked how do they like the event:
“It’s great! I’ve met so many interesting people!”
We think that exclamation of delight sums it all up quite well. See you at a future “Locals’n’Nomads” meetup – they seem to have become a thing here in Split.
