Dear expats and digital nomads – do you want to learn Croatian?

We do understand it’s not the easiest language in the world, but if your answer to this question is “Yes!”, then there’s someone who made it a bit easier for you. You’ll still have to do the most difficult part – the actual learning – but the team from HalPet made it more accessible and affordable.

How? With their online program Croatian For Beginners! 🙂

Actually, one of the Split Tech City volunteer writers, Mirela Vuletić, took part in the creation of the program, so we got some direct information about it from her: “The program is intended for companies, institutions, and agencies that employ foreign employees, as well as for individuals who want to master the basics of the Croatian language.

Although the Croatian language is known as extremely demanding to learn, we have found a way to make it accessible. Just kidding – this was actually a euphemism because the fight was merciless – either us and our program or the language.

The program itself focuses on the functional use of language in everyday situations, it facilitates the integration of any newcomer into the local community.

The working name of the program was “Life Saver”, and we liked that name very much, but it was necessary to please Google search engines and name it “Croatian For Beginners” in the end. The program is completely online and can be accessed at any time and from any device – mobile phone, tablet, or computer. It is up to users to choose and have fun learning Croatian!”

So, if you want to learn Croatian in the comfort of your home or wherever else you are in the world – you can!

Do you dare? We hope you do. Sretno s učenjem! (We’ll let you Google Translate that final sentence.) 😉

Researching is woven into my DNA, but I am a musician at heart. Interested in too many things and always curious. Forever in love with Split and enchanted by people who teach me new things. When I am not creating content about Split's tech community, you will find me in singing rehearsals, somewhere in nature, in the theater, or with my head stuck in a book. I do my best to live by the verse from the opera "Fedora" by Umberto Giordano: "Love forbids you not to love."
