Split Tech City is a community composed of well-intentioned and progressive companies, startups, associations, initiatives, institutions and individuals. Together we encourage and develop the IT sector of Split and the surrounding region.
Support our communityThe Green Future Conference will be held in Split at the Croatian National Theater on June 9th and 10th and it will bring together some of the most important stakeholders on green transition.
This inevitable and important process has already begun and will mark the coming years and decades, both in environmental protection, e-mobility, energy, and public policymaking, as well as in the overall economy and the functioning of companies. Therefore, the conference is supported by the two largest Croatian tech companies, Rimac Group and Infobip.
At the beginning of June, Split will become a center for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, as well as new technologies and solutions, but also innovative policies on green transition, a process that in the coming years and decades is imperative for the economy of Croatia, the European Union, and the rest of the world.
The Green Future Conference will bring together global and Croatian technology leaders, companies, institutions, decision-makers, scientists, and other stakeholders from the sustainable development sector.
The event’s purpose is to raise awareness and learn more about the green transition.
This will focus on how to finance the green transition, as well as how to implement effective public policies that will lead to behavior change, faster implementation of technological innovation, and meeting the 2050 climate neutrality target.
Conference participants will have the opportunity to hear from many interesting lecturers and panelists, so we’ll be listing just a few of them as a teaser to what you can expect. You can learn more about the agenda of the Green Future Conference, as well as other speakers at the event’s website.
One of the speakers you will hear from is Matija Žulj, the founder of AGRIVI. This startup for digital innovation in agriculture helps companies around the world to produce nutritious, healthy, and sustainable food by digitizing agricultural production and product supply chains.
Federico Christophoroni, also one of the speakers, is the co-founder and CEO of Eutopia, a platform with more than 16 000 European startups focused on developing climate change solutions. The platform also provides data, insights, and software tools to help policymakers, investors, and corporations make informed decisions.
Ivica Puljak, Mayor of Split, an internationally recognized physicist, a longtime advocate of popularizing science and applying new technologies, will participate in a panel on public policies together with representatives of European cities who have already achieved these results that still await us.
Much can be learned about public-private partnerships from Stephanie E. Trpkov, an entrepreneur, investor, and longtime World Bank consultant in the areas of competitiveness and energy. She specializes in the low-carbon transition, digital transformation, and smart cities, and the European Commission has selected her as a leading expert for two of the three Croatian cities involved in the “100 Intelligent Cities Challenge” initiative.
The Green Future Conference organizing committee consists of Green Summit, Profico, a digital agency with many years of experience in developing technological tools in the field of smart cities, and VAJT, an award-winning PR agency.
This is what they had to share about the importance of this event: “While the Green Future Conference is technology-oriented, it will by no means ignore people – decision-makers, entrepreneurial leaders, and citizens.
We believe that everything starts with us and ends with us.
That is why this conference will be the perfect opportunity to open space for new business collaborations and investments, to present the best examples of public policies, as well as changes in thinking and doing business, the changes that are actually already here.”
The tickets for Green Future Conference are already being sold, and there is still the Early Bird sale going on until the end of March. For those of you who won’t be in Split in June, a virtual ticket will give you an opportunity to participate from any place in the world. Therefore, we invite you all to seize the opportunity to be a part of this awesome event!
And let’s step into a greener future together!
