Are you wondering about what life in Split is like for a digital nomad?

Steve Tsentserensky

You might have seen this familiar face even before CNBC shared his story about living the digital nomad life here in Croatia. The Split Tech City team had the pleasure of meeting Steve at a digital nomad conference in Zagreb way back in May.

In the meantime, according to the rules of life in Split, we met for a long chat over coffee at one of Split’s numerous coffee shops, climbed the St. Domnius bell tower together, had a few beers, attended Split Tech City’s “Locals’n’Nomads” meetup,…you know – the usual!

We already consider Steve a local after he has gotten his Croatian name while visiting the island of Brač – you should call him Stipe from now on – and has learned we do not say water when talking about the Adriatic Sea. However, it was still really great to see such a positive point of view from a foreigner when it comes to living in Split and Croatia in general.

And who better to tell the world about what it is like to live a digital nomad lifestyle in Split and Croatia than someone who lives it?

On top of knowing first-hand about all the ins and outs of digital nomad life in Split, Steve is also a holder of Croatia’s digital nomad residence permit, more commonly known as a digital nomad visa. He has gone through the application process for this permit, so anyone interested in doing the same got some valuable information right from the source.

Croatia has truly gone through the whole digital nomad permit implementation process by leaps and bounds. We can promote this effort and Croatia as a year-round digital nomad destination, but the best promotion still comes from someone sharing his or her real-life experience. That is why this CNBC article and video mean a lot – they tell a real story.

We are so happy we got to witness Steve’s success in becoming a CNBC Contributor and wish him all the best in the future! We will continue to follow his journey through Croatia and beyond! And in the meantime, take a look at the CNBC video if you still haven’t done it.

It’s a gem, just like Split!

Researching is woven into my DNA, but I am a musician at heart. Interested in too many things and always curious. Forever in love with Split and enchanted by people who teach me new things. When I am not creating content about Split's tech community, you will find me in singing rehearsals, somewhere in nature, in the theater, or with my head stuck in a book. I do my best to live by the verse from the opera "Fedora" by Umberto Giordano: "Love forbids you not to love."
