The Split Web3-enthusiasts were delighted to hear that a Web3 Development Fund was launched by Blank right here in our city.

As Blank is one of the members of the Split Tech City community, we decided to learn more about this initiative directly from Nebojša Veron.

How did the idea of starting the Blank Web3 Development Fund come about?

“We have been thinking for a long time about how we can contribute to the Web3 community and help it grow further and acquire new users, so the launch of our Web3 Development Fund turned out to be an ideal opportunity to achieve that.

In addition to software development in general, Blank is focused on helping companies and brands enter the Web3 world and use its full potential.

So we worked on various projects – from the launch of NFT collections and building the NFT market to the creation of DeFi products, on some of which we also acted as partners.

After several successful partnerships in the Web3 world, we decided to build an ecosystem that will help promising startups develop their ideas and support them in what we do best – software development.

Startups in the Web3 world invest most of the capital they receive through investments in development and marketing. After raising capital, finding a reliable and high-quality development partner that will deliver the desired product more often than not turns out to be a difficult task, and startups often end up not getting the software solution they were looking for.

All of this encouraged us to start the Blank Web3 Development Fund, which will help selected startups with the amount up to a maximum of 50,000 euros in the value of development work.

The applications lasted until July 9th, and we are currently in the selection process. Three more members will also participate in this segment, so the jury will also include Blank’s CTO, Marko Marinović, who will help the projects with the technical side of software development, Web3 domain, blockchain, as well as everything else a Web3 project needs.

Aside from having the Blank team members as jury, we will also be joined by Luka Sučić who is a Web3 enthusiast and investor and is the person who has the best knowledge on interesting projects in the industry, as well as the teams and solutions they offer.

Luka is also a partner in the Meta Change Capital Fund, and we have no doubt that he will contribute to the entire project with his knowledge and experience. The fourth member of the jury is Benja Begović, our partner from Switzerland and CEO of the company Digital Minds, which operates in the area of consulting in the Web3 and Crypto domains.”

The teams that you select will not only gain your developer support but a wider range of services as well, right?

“In addition to developer support, we can certainly help them with our advice and previous business experience, not only in the Web3 world.

We were also surprised by the great interest of other companies and individuals from different sectors after the launch of the Blank Web3 Development Fund, who wanted to contribute to its development, as well as to the expansion of the range of services we can offer startups with the addition of their specific knowledge and services.

This includes, for example, other IT companies, law firms specializing in Web3, and marketing agencies – all of whom can significantly contribute to every Web3 project and startup, and we definitely want to include them in Blank Web3 Development Fund in the future.”

Just starting the Fund sounds like you don’t see other web3 projects and teams as competition but as potential partners or clients?

“Indeed – we want to contribute to the development of the Web3 community and help enthusiasts who, just like us, were once looking for a place under the sun and trying to realize their business ideas.

Starting a business is a really difficult task – especially in the Web3 world – and you need the help of experts from different sectors, and the idea itself is just the beginning of a business journey where many challenges await you.

Blank’s interest is certainly to find reliable partners in the Web3 world with whom we will cooperate in the long term.”

Can you describe what the ideal project or team would be like for the Blank Web3 Development Fund?

“We would like to see projects in the conceptual or early development phase, which have achieved pre-seed or seed investments, but also projects without investment.

Blank can help such startups build an MVP or the first serious version of a product. We don’t want to limit ourselves excessively, but we believe that we can help projects like this the most.

When selecting a candidate, the structure of their current development team is not important to us, but it is very important to us who the founders are and what they have been doing so far.

We want to invest in promising projects, and since everything starts from the founder/s, they are something we will pay the most attention to, along with the business part of the project.”

Is the support of Blank Web3 Development Fund limited in time and location?

“Our Fund is not geographically limited – it is available globally and anyone who believes that we can help them in business with our knowledge and experience can apply. The only prerequisite for cooperation is knowledge of the English language for easier communication.”
