How does a former professional basketball player become one of the most recognizable names in local financial education?
By choosing not to just “save for an apartment,” but to learn, share, and bust the myth that finance is boring, complicated, and “only for people in suits.”
At the 5th anniversary edition of the Split Tech City Festival, taking place on September 5th and 6th, Toni Vitali is taking the main stage – known for the blog Škrti Otočanin, co-author of the book Be Financially Fit, and half of the popular YouTube duo Tetka & Škrti Otočanin.
“25 Financial Lessons You Should Know by 25”
Or translated: all the things no one ever told you about money – but should have.
During his professional basketball career, Toni discovered a passion for personal finance and investing. But he quickly realized that there were almost no high-quality, clear, and understandable sources on these topics in the region.
That’s when his second career began – in education.
He launched the blog Škrti Otočanin, and later a number of other channels with the same goal: to bring personal finance closer to the “everyday person” – without technical jargon, using simple language and a touch of humor.
Today, he’s one of the most interesting and approachable educators in the region when it comes to topics like saving, investing, passive income, but also the “less sexy” stuff like budgeting, planning, and taking responsibility for your own money.
Because a large number of young people never receive even basic financial education by the age of 25.
At the same time, they’re bombarded daily with contradictory messages – from “take out a loan now” to “bitcoin will solve your life.”
Toni wants to put an end to financial confusion and offer concrete, understandable lessons that anyone can apply – whether you’re working your first job, running your own business, or just trying to survive the month.
In his talk, you won’t get dream-selling or “get rich quick” advice – but you will get the most important thing: knowledge that can change your relationship with money, and maybe even your entire life.
If you want to learn how to manage your money smarter – and have a laugh along the way – don’t miss Toni’s talk on the main stage of the Split Tech City Festival.
This is your last chance to grab early bird tickets – available now on the Entrio platform.
