Celebrating the first-ever edition of tech.coffee held in Split

Split Tech City

Split Tech City

13.06.2024.

Last week the first-ever edition of tech.coffee took place at Smartspace in Split’s city center.

Surrounded by years of history interwoven in the old town, this meetup showcased how the future might look like here in our Mediterranean tech hub – building bridges across the old continent, sharing knowledge and experiences, and growing together.

The selected speaker for this occasion was Thorstein Nordby, founder of Nettly.

Nettly is an Oslo-based consultancy specializing in HubSpot and B2B go-to-market strategies, so it is no surprise that Thorstein offered a comprehensive guide to scaling a business to the tech.coffee audience here in Split.

Audience that was numerous in attendance and active in participation!

As a result of his impressive career, Thorstein has become a trusted advisor to numerous companies in the tech sector. His expertise has been instrumental in helping more than 40 Nordic companies scale effectively and grow their revenues.

His lecture titled “The Blueprint for Scaling B2B Technology and Service Companies” offered the following:

  • 10 years of B2B sales and marketing lessons in 30 minutes
  • understand what strategies and tools B2B companies use when scaling up
  • the right sequence for implementing all the strategies, tools, and tactics
  • tailored for those who are selling complex solutions to multi-stakeholder businesses
  • get a high-level checklist to evaluate the gaps in your own growth strategy

All this was followed by an interesting Q&A that uncovered more expert-level advice from Thorstein.

As is customary, even if you missed this edition of tech.coffee, you still get to benefit and learn from it because the video of this lecture is available for viewing on tech.coffee YouTube channel at any time.

What you have missed out is – the networking!

This important, in-person aspect of any tech.coffee meetup is impossible to get if you do not attend it, so make sure you grab your spot on time at the next edition in Split.

If you are not in Split, you still might get the chance to take part in tech.coffee in person because this event is intended to have its pop-up editions abroad, as well.

After sixteen years of consistent investment in networking and the development of the local tech community under the name OpenCoffee Split, the founder of this meetup, Toni Trivković decided to re-frame the whole story in its own brand – tech.coffee.

The content of the meetup and its direction will remain the same – tech leaders will come to Split to contribute to the development of local experts and tech enthusiasts with their expertise.

The difference is that tech.coffee will be focused on exchanging experiences exclusively with the business market of the Nordic countries. Also, there will be more content aimed at B2B businesses.

The focus of the tech.coffee meetup will be on building a bridge between Split as a Mediterranean tech hub and the Nordic countries.

Participation in the tech.coffee meetup will continue to be free, with a limited number of participants to ensure the quality of the interaction – the individual presentation of all participants has been one of the meetup’s standards since the very beginning.

And, as mentioned above, in addition to the Split meetups, Toni plans to organize pop-up tech.coffee events in the Nordic countries and the first such event will be held in September in Copenhagen.

So, if you would like to attend tech.coffee in your city – you know what to do!
