19.07.2024.

As we have already announced, the Split Tech City Festival will once more grace our calendars at the beginning of September – precisely on September 6 and 7.

And, as was the case in 2022 and 2023, one full day is dubbed #InternationalDay and is reserved for lectures and panels in English. This year it will take place on September 7, and we hope you’re ready for it! 😉

With the official program of the #SplitTechCityFestival, as well as its pre-program you should prepare to be inspired and have a great time as soon as you get your ticket! 😀

Until now, we have only hinted at what you can expect during the International Day of the #STCFestival2024. But now the time has come to start introducing our speakers and panelists. 🙂

Because the Split Tech City Festival is open to everyone no matter their level of experience or chosen field, we once again did our best to include a little bit of “everything for everyone” when it comes to the content of the lectures and panels while still making sure that, aside from fantastic networking that will take place throughout the day and in the evening, you will also gain something from each lecture and panel.

Therefore, without further ado, it’s time for the first Split Tech City Festival introduction of 2024: meet Matthias Röder!

Dr. Matthias Röder is an award-winning music-tech visionary and director of the Beethoven AI Project. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at The Mindshift, a consultancy on creative leadership and innovation strategy.

Matthias also currently serves as a board member of the Karajan Foundation and is the Managing Director of the Eliette and Herbert von Karajan Institute. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Mozarteum Foundation.

During his rich and busy career, Matthias also found the time to ideate and kickstart the Karajan Music Tech Conference, a cross-industry event promoting breakthrough technologies in music, media, and audio.

He is also the founder of the Classical Music Hack Day series – a music & AI hackathon.

Together with his partner, Seda Röder, Matthias co-founded the Sonophilia Foundation, a non-profit that supports and promotes scientific research into creativity.

Matthias has won numerous prizes and accolades for his work, including an Effie Bronce for completing Beethoven’s 10th symphony with AI and the “Game Changer” Award of the Chamber of Commerce Salzburg.

He is a sought-after speaker and lecturer who has taught at Harvard University, the Change & Innovation Management Program at the University of St. Gall, and Salzburg University. He holds a PhD in music from Harvard University and is an alumnus of the Mozarteum University Salzburg.

So far we didn’t have musicians at the Split Tech City Festival, and we thought it was a fine time for someone from the music and tech industry to grace the Bačvice Open-Air Cinema stage during the International Day.

The lecture Matthias will give is titled Unleashing Creativity: How AI is Rocking the Music World and this is how he invited you to come and hear it at the #STCFestival2024:

“Join me for a 20-minute dive into the exciting world of creativity and AI!

We’ll explore what creativity really means and how AI can supercharge our creative juices. Ever wondered how AI is shaking up the music industry?

I’ll show you the cool ways in which artists are using it, from composing original pieces and generating new sounds to enhancing live performances and creating immersive experiences.

Get ready for a fun and insightful look at the future of music and creativity in the age of AI!”

Did we spike your curiosity? Are you in the Can’t wait for the Split Tech City Festival!” mood yet? We sure are! 🙂

Come to the Bačvice Open-Air Cinema on September 7 and be inspired with us! 😀

And, to make sure you don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to broaden your horizons under the expert guidance of Matthias and the rest of our selected speakers and panelists – go get your #STCFestival tickets! 😉

Researching is woven into my DNA, but I am a musician at heart. Interested in too many things and always curious. Forever in love with Split and enchanted by people who teach me new things. When I am not creating content about Split's tech community, you will find me in singing rehearsals, somewhere in nature, in the theater, or with my head stuck in a book. I do my best to live by the verse from the opera "Fedora" by Umberto Giordano: "Love forbids you not to love."
