Split Tech City is a community composed of well-intentioned and progressive companies, startups, associations, initiatives, institutions and individuals. Together we encourage and develop the IT sector of Split and the surrounding region.
Support our communityHack4Split will be held this weekend at the SPINIT incubator in its standard form of a two-day competition and will bring together a variety of different individuals aimed at solving social problems and designing social innovations to resolve issues in their local community, all in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
The competition is particularly focused on encouraging young people to become active members of their community.
This year Hack4Split will feature 52 participants divided into 10 teams. The teams will work on developing solutions for several different ideas: recognizing marine organisms, facilitating afforestation to absorb CO2 emissions, safe houses for victims of violence, solving long waiting lists in hospitals, etc.
Under the guidance and support of excellent mentors, Hack4Split participants will have 24 hours to develop a prototype of their solution in the form of products or services, followed by a presentation of all developed projects.
But that’s not all the organizers of Hack4Split have prepared for this year!
In addition to the standard hackathon program, a workshop titled “Is e-mail marketing dead?” will be held by Martina Šepić, director of Webpower Adria. The workshop is open to the public, as well as the hackathon participants, the only thing you need to do to participate is to sign up via the link and attend!
Upon the completion of the hackathon, the best teams will receive various prizes: SmartNinja course “Programming for Beginners: Python“, online training of choice from Mirakul Education Center, a voucher for ZIP Line Split, free one-month use of The Works coworking space, and prize money for further development.
This fabulous social hackathon is part of a project funded by the European Solidarity Force of the European Union and the Central State Office for Demography and Youth and is organized by the Entrepreneurship Center Split and the Student Business Incubator of the Faculty of Economics in Split in partnership with Ensoco, Digital Nomad Association Croatia, and Split Tech City.
Other important supporters of Hack4Split are its sponsors: DobarTek, Wolt, ZIP Line Split, SmartNinja Hrvatska, Mirakul education center, OTP bank d.d., The Daltonist Craft Bar, The Works Coworking, and Nova Eurospectra. Proving once more how a lot can be done to improve our city when we all come together!
So, mark your calendars for this weekend and go support Hack4Split!
p.s. Before that, come toast this amazing hackathon at the 10th edition of our “Locals’n’Nomads“ meetup. 🙂
