Support our communityJedna Mladost… The best translation is “One Youth” because we only have one youth, and we should use it well!
And if we’re anything like Sanja and Michael, and our one youth extends well into adulthood because we feel young, then it’s no wonder Jedna Mladost exists and is enriching the youth of many a youth. 🙂
Jedna Mladost is run by Sanja Kosor, an accountant with her own accounting company, and Michael Freer, a social entrepreneur with his own business.
It functions as an association and it has been created with the idea to encourage young people to learn knowledge and skills they might not necessarily be able to learn at school.
Therefore, Sanja and Michael hope to engage others like you who understand the importance of this particular mission. 🙂
Every Saturday in our lovely city of Split, Jedna Mladost runs a variety of different courses tailored for STEM-minded youngsters ages 12 and up.
With courses and clubs about leadership, entrepreneurship, video editing, programming, and graphic design, the Jedna Mladost youngsters have plenty of interesting learning opportunities to choose from!
They’ve been successfully bringing magic to the youth for a year and now you could help them, too!
After this first year, the demand for Jedna Mladost magic has grown rapidly, so they are looking for motivated individuals to join them in running educational sessions twice a month on a Saturday.
We asked Michael what they are looking for, and this is what he had to share: “We need a front-end developer to deliver a course in HTML, CSS, and any other languages they may think are interesting and useful to our young people.
We are also looking for a graphic designer with knowledge of digital tools like Figma and other programs used out there in the real world, who could deliver a course to share these skills.”
Both of these courses will be held two Saturdays a month, and the Jedna Mladost team (and youngsters!) can be flexible with the starting time because they completely understand everyone has their own schedules and obligations.
They run two courses twice a year – October to December and January to May. So you can join them for a sprint or a marathon – it’s up to you!
Finally, they are not expecting you to volunteer and have a set pay rate they offer all their educators.
Furthermore, all levels of experience are welcome – whether you’ve graduated or are still studying. The most important thing you need to bring to the table is real-life work experience that you can share with the Jedna Mladost youngsters.
Are you up to the task of bringing some more magic to Jedna Mladost? 😀
If yes, then let them know via email, or connect with Michael directly. The same applies if you want to know more about this. But we think that, if you possess the required skills, you should do it.
Magic away! 😉
