Luke Bryant is another one of many international tech professionals who moved to Croatia. He arrived from Newport (South Wales, United Kingdom) in February 2019, but he is originally from Bristol. Before moving to Croatia in 2019, he and his family spent nearly two years in Athens (Greece), but in the end, have decided to settle in Croatia – in Biograd na Moru, to be precise.

Many things contributed to their decision to choose Croatia as their final destination. Luke’s wife is Croatian, so part of the extended family lives here. The two of them met while she lived and worked in the United Kingdom. However, after their children were born in 2016, they decided they wanted to raise their family in Croatia because they wanted to enjoy the Croatian way of life.

When he’s not enjoying his free time and peaceful life with his family, Luke works at Typeqast and is very happy with his job and the overall work environment:

“I have been lucky enough to land the job at Typeqast. They have been hugely accommodating of me as a foreigner coming to work here, and I am grateful for this.”

He also shared with us his love of the Croatian lifestyle, especially the people and the food (and wine, too!):

“Croatia is, by far, the nicest place I have lived in, and we intend to stay here.”

Watch the video of our interview with Luke to find out more about all the positive aspects of life here that make him call Croatia his home.

We want to thank Luke for taking his time to share his story with us and wish him and his family all the best, and may they continue to enjoy all the benefits life in Croatia has to offer!

Researching is woven into my DNA, but I am a musician at heart. Interested in too many things and always curious. Forever in love with Split and enchanted by people who teach me new things. When I am not creating content about Split's tech community, you will find me in singing rehearsals, somewhere in nature, in the theater, or with my head stuck in a book. I do my best to live by the verse from the opera "Fedora" by Umberto Giordano: "Love forbids you not to love."
