The new edition of Travel Nights in Prostor brings us stories about the Republic of El Salvador, told by Carlos Jr. & Elsa Marina.

Discover the Republic of El Salvador, a tiny country in Central America that has undergone a radical transformation since 2019. Now one of the safest travel destinations on the American continent, El Salvador is experiencing a tourism boom.

Volcanic crater lakes, quaint colonial towns, and bitcoin beach are just some of what El Salvador has to offer.

In addition to discovering El Salvador as a potential tourist destination, you will also have the opportunity to explore its culture through traditional food & drink, dance, and music which will all be on the menu.

The guides for this adventure will be a mother and son duo who hope to highlight the most important resource El Salvador possesses “its people”.

About Carlos Jr. & Elsa Marina:

Carlos has been living in the Split area since April 2023. His story is not unlike many whose homelands have suffered through civil war. He grew up in Canada but maintained a closeness to his roots thanks to the efforts of his Parents, Carlos Sr. and Elsa Marina.

Elsa Marina arrived in Split for the Christmas holidays from Calgary Canada where she resides. She is visiting Croatia for the first time and enjoying its people and culture.

Recently widowed she has dreams of returning to El Salvador in the coming years to complete the construction of a small vacation home and start a small-scale farming project on her husband’s family land.

Learning and cooking, too

They are both excited to guide us through a short presentation of their Country followed by a culinary experience.

Travel nights in Prostor are for all travel lovers but also for anyone interested in learning about other cultures, meeting like minded people, exchanging knowledge, tips and simply socialising.

It’s an informal storytelling event in which someone who travelled to an interesting place in the world tells its story – good things and the bad, amazing discoveries as well as challenges.
