Two decades into the 21st century, how close are we to a unified mathematical model of intelligence?

In this exploratory symposium, we invite submissions presenting mathematical models of brain function or computational ideas about intelligence.

We give priority to those models that can account for brain or behavioral data, or state-of-the-art results in artificial intelligence on naturalistic tasks.

When and where:

May 27-30th, 2025

National Theatre, Split, Croatia

Convention Overview:

One of the major scientific projects of the 20th century was the study of computation. This effort allowed us to build devices capable of performing tasks previously reserved for the human mind. This analogy has proven extremely productive, with:

– Neural and cognitive theories inspiring the development of powerful algorithms.
– Computational study of the brain and mind helping shape those theories and algorithms.

In this convention, we aim to:

– Identify and develop novel computational frameworks for studying the brain and mind.
– Use these findings to create innovative algorithms for solving complex problems and simulating intelligence.

Key Fields of Focus:

Our content comes from four main fields:

1. Biocomputation
2. Neural Theory
3. Cognitive Science
4. Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Each of these fields:

– Has developed a distinct computational language.
– Contains a unique set of concepts related to overlapping underlying principles.

Convention Goals:

– Bring together leading researchers from these fields in both **online and offline** settings.
– Build bridges between the fields so that novel findings, insights, and frameworks can emerge and spark new developments.
