DUMP Days is a well-known and well-attended student tech conference in Croatia, which breaks records year after year.
The eighth edition of DUMP Days will be held on May 23 and 24 (Thursday and Friday) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture (FESB) in Split.
This year, DUMP Days is supported by 27 tech companies from all over Croatia together with Infobip, the first Croatian unicorn, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, a leading supplier of ICT products and services for operators, and the Solana Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports the development of the Solana blockchain.
Companies will also have their own stands where they will present their projects and have some merch for you.
Split Tech City will also have its stand – we are preparing everything, so make sure you drop by! 😉
“We are very happy that numerous companies that have supported our conference in previous years have decided to sponsor this year’s edition, too. We are thrilled that new companies are coming forward that we have not had the opportunity to cooperate with before,” said Gabriela Bonić, head of the DUMP Days sponsorship team.
In addition to the stands, visitors can also talk to company representatives at FlyTalks – eight-minute one-on-one conversations where job-seeking students can land their first summer internship or student job in tech.
The eighth edition of the DUMP Days conference brings recognized Croatian and European experts. As the organizers say: “You name it, we have IT!”
Visitors will be able to enjoy as many as fourteen lectures and six workshops on various topics, such as web development, UX/UI, artificial intelligence, digital marketing, blockchain, telecommunications technology, entrepreneurship, etc.
“Every year we try to bring the best possible lecturers.
We are glad that many experts responded to our request this year, such as Daniel Ackermann, a Croatian entrepreneur with several successful companies; Davor Bruketa, a creative director with several awards and recognitions; Daniela Jović, the manager of the CroCube project, the first Croatian satellite; and many others. This year, we have 14 very high-quality lecturers!” Lovre Tomić, head of the DUMP Days speakers team, proudly pointed out.
In addition to lectures, visitors have the opportunity to hear two panel discussions. One is “sponsorship-themed” where company representatives will talk about the current state of IT and how to land a job in this sector, and the other is “marketing-themed” where the panelists will talk about different forms of digital marketing.
The moderator of that panel is a key person in the domestic and regional advertising and digital marketing scene – Dunja Ivana Ballon – and the well-known TikTok influencer Dario Marčac will participate in the discussion.
How to defend against hacker attacks, write a CV, or get rid of the fear of public speaking? All of these are some of the topics of the DUMP Days conference workshops. Those who are interested in what last year’s edition looked like can watch the after-movie on the DUMP YouTube channel.
By participating in workshops, visiting stands, and listening to lectures, visitors can win points in the prize draw. To participate in the prize draw, you need to register on the DUMP Days web application. Those with the most points at the end of the second day of the conference can win a TV, mechanical keyboard, smartwatch, speaker, and other valuable prizes.
This year, in cooperation with Daytona, a Croatian startup, a hackathon will be held on the second day of the DUMP Days conference. The best participants of the hackathon will be awarded prizes at the end of the conference, together with the winners of the raffle.
The DUMP Days conference is organized by the DUMP Association of Young Developers, known for its great contribution to the local tech community.
With the support of the Split FESB, every year the DUMP team organizes cycles of free lectures, the most famous of which is the Programming Basics School, as well as the DUMP Internship, a six-month education program for future IT experts.
“We are very grateful to FESB for supporting the work of our Association for years, whose members are students of that and other faculties of the University of Split,” said Frane Doljanin, current president of the Association.
Anyone interested in the DUMP Days conference can already register their arrival at days.dump.hr, familiarize themselves with the schedule, and win the first points in the prize draw.
See you at DUMP Days! 😀
