Split Tech City is a community composed of well-intentioned and progressive companies, startups, associations, initiatives, institutions and individuals. Together we encourage and develop the IT sector of Split and the surrounding region.
Support our communityGetByBus.com – from a blog to a market leader in passenger transport
We are GetByBus, a Danish-Croatian company founded in 2014, initially as a startup, but today our team consists of over 50 employees.
What began as an informative blog about bus lines in Croatia has ultimately evolved into one of the most advanced “cloud-based” platforms, with over 20 million users.
We are best known as a platform for selling bus and ferry tickets, which is our core business, but in addition to that, we also provide other services, such as creating ready-made IT solutions for carriers.
Our headquarters are in Split, and our mission is to become the booking.com of the passenger transport industry.
In addition to GetByBus.com, in 2019, we launched the GetByFerry.com platform, where passengers can buy tickets for ferries and catamarans.
In 2021, we became part of the Travelier group, where we joined forces with several partners to internationalize our business. As a result, we now sell bus, ferry, and train tickets in more than 80 countries and collaborate with over 500 carriers.
Currently, we are in the process of strengthening our teams, as we are expanding our business globally, which brings new business challenges.
The scope of the work we do is really broad, therefore there are several departments such as marketing, R&D, sales, customer support, and finance (just to name a few 😀).
Most of our employees love to travel, so it’s not surprising that we continued our initial practice – writing a travel blog about interesting destinations and travel tips.
We are certainly proud of this and will continue to encourage our employees to share our product with other users through their own experiences.
Overall, the goal is for our team to constantly grow, but we want it to be gradual, carefully planned, and proportional to the development of the business, in order to maintain the same level of ambition, focus on quality, and unity that have brought us to where we are now.
We are always open to meeting new potential colleagues, empowering our teams, and improving our business processes.
We can say that our office is full of “perks” – it is very important to us that everyone feels comfortable and has all the necessary conditions for quality work. This includes all the necessary equipment, but also additional things like meeting rooms and well-equipped large kitchens (yes, we have more than one 😀).
The atmosphere in the office is both professional and relaxed. We especially value teamwork and communication. It is important to us that each of us is always learning, growing, and advancing. Which is why we invest a certain part of our resources in educating employees through workshops, lectures, and conferences. 🙂
Our working hours are flexible, and we also have the option of occasional remote work. We always encourage team spirit, so we often organize informal gatherings and team-building activities.
The good spirit of our office is Oskar, our Westie, the main guardian and supervisor of the kitchen. Besides Oskar, we are regularly joined by a few other pets in the office.
Split Tech City and GetByBus have been collaborating for many years, and our managers and team leads regularly participate in STC events, from panels at STC festival to holding lectures at the Open Coffee meetups.
Our goal is to further intensify this cooperation in the future through further participation in panels, lectures, and even charitable actions, all to further strengthen the Split IT community.
If all of this seems interesting to you, and you are a student (or simply interested in working in IT, marketing, and similar fields) and think you could contribute to our team, definitely get in touch with us, we will be happy to listen. 🙂
The same goes for companies, businesses, individuals – we are always open to collaboration, or at the very least, an informal conversation.
