This week we met Mahina Hathaway, a New Zealander that recently moved to Split where interestingly she manages to work both locally and remotely.

After working here for a number of summers with her husband, they soon fell in love with our city thanks to the similarities between New Zealand and Croatia. It didn’t take too much to convince them to move here, and they are now over the moon to call Split their home.

As a virtual assistant, she’s able to work remotely and across multiple time zones. She has clients all around the world, including China, New Zealand and Europe. She now benefits from Split’s relaxed vibe to escape the pressures that she would have faced had she ended up with a typical 9 to 5 in an office.

Things intensify during the summer when her and her husband Nick run week long sailing holidays, where she still manages to balance both jobs from port side! When she’s not on the boat, she can often be found at her favourite places – Saltwater Workspace and D16 Coffee Shop, both of which will feature in future articles.

For more information about Mahina – check out her LinkedIn profile and visit her website.
