We already talked about the ways charity and technology are entwined here in Split. Split Tech City as an association always tries to give back to the wider local community in some way, so it is no surprise that the members of Split Tech City aim to do the same. This is exactly the case with AGILO and its charitable initiative through the AGILO Sports Foundation.

AGILO is a design and technology studio led by Toni Trivković, who is also the founder and president of Split Tech City. Toni had a great idea on how to combine charity with the AGILO team’s football playing at the local amateur Sun City Sport league of companies: by turning each goal the team scores into a donation for a charitable purpose.

The value of one goal was initially determined to be a hundred Croatian kuna. However, the good vibes quickly spread into the rest of Split’s tech community. Companies and individuals alike recognized AGILO’s initiative as something extremely positive and note-worthy making the goal’s value skyrocket.

The result was 64 700 Croatian kuna gathered for charity!

Interesting to note is that the organizer of the league also joined and donated the amount the team paid for their participation in the league. Therefore, the total amount is a combined donation from the AGILO Sports team, their partners, and Sun City Sport. When asked about their achievement, the only thing they had to say is this:

“We are happy and proud that we have managed to collect a nice sum that will help those in need!”

The entire sum was donated to the Vjeruj i djeluj (English: Believe and act) association for their project Dječji koraci (English: Children’s steps). This project aims to gather enough funds to buy a TREXO walking robot. This robot is designed to be used by both, children who need maximum support, as well as children who just need a nudge to work on their endurance and gait. The robot’s adjustability makes it a versatile tool to help most children with a disability experience independent walking.

The total amount the Vjeruj i djeluj association needs to buy the TREXO robot is 250 000 Croatian kuna, so the amount the AGILO Sports team gathered will surely help with that. However, if you would also like to contribute, you can donate using this information:

BIC / SWIFT CODE: PBZGHR2X
Payment description: Donacija za akciju “Dječji koraci”
Payment model: HR00
Payment number: date of payment (example: 07092021)

In the end, make sure to follow the AGILO Sports team via their website and Instagram profile if you have not done so already. Their charitable efforts will not stop here – the new season begins soon, and they plan to do the same this time, as well! Therefore, we invite you to follow them, cheer them from the stands, and even consider making a contribution of your own during the upcoming football season.

The only goal of the AGILO Sports team is to beat their own score of 64 700 HRK. We are absolutely sure they can do it – with a little help from all of us!

Researching is woven into my DNA, but I am a musician at heart. Interested in too many things and always curious. Forever in love with Split and enchanted by people who teach me new things. When I am not creating content about Split's tech community, you will find me in singing rehearsals, somewhere in nature, in the theater, or with my head stuck in a book. I do my best to live by the verse from the opera "Fedora" by Umberto Giordano: "Love forbids you not to love."
